Casa Mirante

Casa Mirante sits between the cork forests of Melides and the Atlantic, concealed from the road by native pines and a long earthen wall. Its architecture is organised around a shallow water court that cools the arrival sequence before rooms open gradually toward the western horizon.

The main pavilion combines a double-aspect living room, library and kitchen around a sculptural travertine hearth. Deep reveals and sliding chestnut screens soften summer light while maintaining a continuous relationship with the garden. A separate dining loggia turns outdoor meals into part of the architecture rather than an addition to it.

Five suites occupy smaller garden pavilions linked by shaded passages. Each has its own planted threshold, a quiet outdoor shower and views held deliberately low beneath the tree canopy. The principal suite includes a private court and a dressing room lit from above.

The house is designed for year-round use, with discreet climate systems, photovoltaic generation and a service wing screened from the main approach. AELOR selected Casa Mirante for the precision with which it balances openness, privacy and the elemental pleasure of coastal living.
